Well, well, well. Just when you think Sanders Family Foolishness couldn't get messier...
Deion Sanders was charged with attempting to destroy evidence last night. Details inside
From Channel 8 Dallas:
News 8 has now learned that Prosper police have referred a more serious charge — criminal mischief — against Sanders to the Collin County District Attorney’s Office, according to four people familiar with the case.
“We believe that Mr. Sanders destroyed a phone in an attempt to hide evidence,” said Pete Schulte, Pilar Sanders’ criminal attorney. “The police have at least taken the step to charge Mr. Sanders for breaking Deana Boswell’s phone.” Boswell is a family friend who said she witnessed the fight between Deion and Pilar Sanders on April 23 and captured it on her mobile phone. There's also this from CBS 11:
Police in Prosper filed criminal charges against former Dallas Cowboys star Deion Sanders on Wednesday night, for allegedly trying to destroy evidence related to a domestic disturbance at his home.
Sanders will face a Criminal Mischief charge for allegedly smashing the smartphone of his wife’s friend, who was recording an altercation between Deion and his estranged wife, Pilar, last week.
The memory card from that smartphone is in the custody of police, and could be used as evidence in an investigation of the couple, trying to determine just who assaulted who.
The Criminal Mischief charge that Deion faces is a Class A misdemeanor, with a possible punishment of up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Deion and Pilar are in a Dallas court right now, where they both are requesting protective orders against each other! Pilar showed up with a bandage on her arm, presumably because of her claim that she suffered a broken thumb during their fight last week. The couple has over a dozen lawyers between the them and Deion strutted in wearing a big smile.
